***************************** THE JIMMY KRUG REPORT ***************************** June/July 2002 Hi Jim, First, I'm glad to say that I haven't "fallen off the map." I've been testing several business ideas both on and off the Net. Also, I've been reviewing course after course after course dealing of the "How-To" variety. I'm currently working on a "How-To" course that's very different from your standard infoproduct. Let's talk a little bit about you, Jim. Let's talk about what it takes to get started in what I call the "World's Most Perfect Self-Publishing Business." Most businesses require some pretty hefty start-up costs. And even then, it takes time before you'll be certain if a particular business venture is going to "fly" or not. It all comes down to testing. In the end, though... it takes a commitment to something (99 out of 100 times) before real, long-lasting success occurs. Okay, I know the word "commitment" may sound a little bit overwhelming for some... I guess we could use the term "FOCUS" instead. Does that sound a little bit better? Focus gives you the ability to recognize and execute the necessary steps that lead to accomplishment. Focus also gives you the ability to recognize and AVOID the unnecessary elements that do not. ////////////////////////////////////// WHY BOOKLETS CAN WORK WHERE OTHER THINGS HAVE FAILED How-To information sells. Marketing information sells. Health related information sells. Moneymaking information sells. People buy secrets, shortcuts and "lazy-man" guides to just about every imaginable topic under the sun! All these topics and more can be published in short, to-the-point booklets. It's never taken me longer than a week to write a booklet! Never! So let's say you're extra slow... and it takes you two and a half weeks to finish. That's nothing! After that, if money is tight, give it to a college or high school student to edit. The whole project can be done in Microsoft Publisher from start to finish. Even the cover. If you're a "lazy-man or woman," bring a dozen or so printed copies to your local print shop. They can staple and trim your booklets leaving you with a nice finished product. That's it. You're done. You have a product ready to sell! Put it on a simple, direct-sales web site and start selling it. Will you get rich right away? Not right away. But think of it like this... if the simple booklet sells... you can add a second that compliments the first. Then you'll have two products. Before you know it, you can have a small catalog of simple, easy-to-read publications that will help people accomplish their goals and dreams. Be it to - lose weight, make money or anything else. You can use a simple service like STAMPS.COM to avoid having to stand in long lines at the post office. Stamps.com will handle your addresses, postage and envelop printing right from your desktop. It won't be long before you'll be developing your own "house mailing list." And as they say... that's where the money is. It's in the list. Send the best sales letter to the wrong crowd and you'll still be swinging and missing. ////////////////////////////////////// A BOOKLET PER CHAPTER Take any How-To book you'd like off your shelf. Open it up to the Table of Contents and read the chapter headings. Each of those heading would make an excellent stand-alone booklet in most cases. In fact, with a little concentration, you could probably make the information in your booklet even better than the particular chapter you're reviewing! That's because you probably have several books on the same topic. Each with strengths and weakness. By combining the best information from several sources... and re-writing it in a personable, yet "get-to-the-point" style... you'd be amazed by what you'll come up with. Eventually, as you create additional, complimenting booklets, you can sell the entire series for a lot more than you'd sell a single book. Do you see how that works? But first, you need that all-important FIRST booklet published. I came up with this method for some of my friends who wanted to sell booklets to large companies, organizations AND single individuals. Here's a key... you've got to get momentum going on your side! Maybe you've purchased a 500-page ebook and thought, "How am I ever going to get started?" Or loads of information about writing sales letters, marketing, web site design... and on and on. It can be a never-ending cycle of "Getting Ready To Be Successful." When I started my own booklet business... I avoided all of that. I wrote my booklet over a weekend! It wasn't perfect. My marketing wasn't perfect. My plans weren't ingenious. And yet... I sold my products like crazy. All of that happened without paying someone a small fortune. No one took me by the hand and revealed to me their closely guarded secrets. And let me tell you something, Jim. I don't use the term "Simple Publications" for nothing. The simpler your plan, the easier it will be for you to execute. The simpler your plan, the quicker the results, the quicker the testing period and the quicker the adjust will be made - bringing you one step closer to the success you desire. - Jimmy Krug ***************************** -------Only $6.95 A Month-------- The Ultimate, Inexpensive, Mailing Server, Personalized Follow-up Machine Only from Jimmy Krug http://www.worldresponders.com ***************************** OVER 1 MILLION BOOKLET SALES!
